Sridhar is a regular speaker at various national and international fora on the issue of open governance, inclusive growth, emerging technology and also advises various government departments on the same. towards a world where all waste is treated as a resource. Dsposal builds easy-to-use tech to
connect UK waste producers to licensed waste services and simplify compliance. We believe in
making the relevant data accessible and convenient to use, driving behaviour change and
creating value by maximising the utility of waste.

As part of a recent GovTech Catalyst Smart Waste Tracking research project Dsposal worked
with Open Data Manchester to develop a prototype Open Data Standard for waste as well as
propose a holistic suite of solutions to digitally transform the whole waste pathway and
revolutionise the industry.

Sophie is passionate about sustainability and draws on her varied background and experiences.
Born in Tamil Nadu, India, she spent her early years on rural development projects before
moving to North Devon, UK. Sophie spent many years traveling before studying Conflict
Resolution at the University of Bradford. After graduation she gained extensive experience in
logistics and supply chain roles before embarking on an 8700-mile cycle tour of North America
with her fiancé Tom in 2015. Since co-founding Dsposal in 2016 Sophie has used her drive to
turn a brilliant idea into reality and build a company culture of innovation and inclusion.

Mr. Koh Lin Ji has taught and researched in economics in the University of Ottawa from 1982 – 1985 and worked on an econometric forecasting for the Singapore Economy in the National University of Singapore from 1986 – 1989.

He joined BCA (then known as the Construction Industry Development Board) in 1989 and developed the first econometric forecasting model for the Singapore construction sector. Under his supervision, his team formulated the first Singapore Construction Tender Price Index, developed and managed the ports at Lorong Halus and Tuas for the imports of sand and granite and made forecasts for construction trends in Singapore between 1990 and 2002.

 In 2002, Mr. Koh moved on to be the Group Director for the International Development to promote BCA services and Singapore firms overseas, in particular China, Southeast Asia, South Asia and the Middle East. His team also set up the BCA International to facilitate the export of BCA services overseas.

 In April, 2018 Mr. Koh’s team is transferred to the Built Environment industry transformation office, BuildSG. He continues to oversee the internationalization of Singapore firms in his role as Centre Director.

 Mr. Koh led the BCA team to work with his Chinese counterpart to develop and implement the green building standards and regulations for the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city, draft the green building and district standards for the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, and capacity development in green building designs and eco-city developments for Chinese government agencies and industrial organisations. He also worked with a BCA-Jurong Consultants Team on the design of the Low Carbon Living Lab Building in the Eco-Business Park in the Tianjin Eco-city. He has been invited and accepted to talk on sustainable development policies at various national and international conferences and forums. Mr. Koh is one of the few foreign members of the China Green Building Council.

Since April 2018, Mr. Koh led his team to participate in the development of Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, a state in south India. This is a collaboration between the Singapore Government and the Andhra Pradesh State Government.

Mr Vivek Mittal has more than 15 years of experience in the areas of Financial Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Capacity Building, Government Reforms, and Programme Management in the Public Sector. Some of the major projects delivered under Vivek’s leadership and guidance are illustrated below

  • Under DFID funded programme, Technical Assistance Support for Implementation of Odisha Urban Infrastructure Programme (OSUIP), Vivek provided guidance to the team for implementation of urban reforms as envisaged under AMRUT and 14th Finance Commission. Odisha secured third rank in 2014-15 and second rank in 2015-16 for implementation of urban reforms.
  • As an Urban Economist, Vivek was instrumental for preparation of a State Plan for Action (PoA) for West Bengal for 'slum-free state', proposing action for redevelopment of all existing slums and preventing formation of new slums. He also provided inputs for development of frameworks for PPP and other means for market based financing along with mainstreaming of housing microfinance and development of affordable micro-mortgages.
  • Vivek was involved in preparation of Smart City Proposal for Rourkela and New Town Kolkata. Both cities were selected under Smart City Mission under round 2 cities.

Currently, Vivek is leading DFID funded programme- Technical Assistance for Smart Urban Development in Indian States (SmUDI). The programme aims to strengthen urban governance, increasing the flow of investment in Smart City infrastructure and establish strong partnerships with UK institutions. Some of the key interventions being delivered under SmUDI, focus on promoting low carbon mobility, leveraging data for governance and decision making, establishing institutional framework for investment promotion in cities, developing urban design guidelines, and promoting / catalysing innovation.

Sumit has been involved in education and skill development activities, having served for 5 years on the board of governors of Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, a well-known management school. These include AIOps (AI for IT operations), Smart Data Center, Manufacturing Insights and Smart City platform. These products and solutions provide advanced analytics capabilities (automated root cause analysis and remediation, image detection and redaction, anomaly detection, noise reduction, predictive analytics, NLP, etc. using machine learning and deep learning), highly scalable big data processing, powerful integration, configurable reports, and data-driven dashboards.

Prior to Hitachi, he spent around seven years in the US as developer/lead/architect with Sybase, Fujitsu, and HP. He later headed engineering for the development of innovative, industry-leading, next-generation products with Nokia, Divine, BEA and Altisource based on Cloud, SOA, analytics and machine learning, middleware, EAI, e-commerce, smart utility space using Web Services, Java/J2EE, microservices and C++.
